For my high school final research paper, I combined my passion for sustainability and my hobby of kitesurfing to explore whether a kitesurfboard could be made from recycled plastic recovered from the ocean.
As part of this project, I designed and 3D-printed a model of a kitesurfboard using recycled plastic from discarded fishing nets. This was my first experience with both 3D modeling, using Tinkercad, and working with a 3D printer, which made the project even more exciting.
This research design project not only deepened my interest in sustainable innovation but also helped me realize that studying Industrial Design would be the perfect fit for me.
